ATC 1 : Dead City Radio

2005.08.31 - ?, 28 pages (1/5 chapters) as of 2007.09.29

<- that needs replaced. Really.

Hallucinating social engineers, ghost ninjas from outer space, past life aggression, UFOs.... and that's just the first chapter!

Dead City Radio will eventually detail several of the events that lead up to The Dualist. Until those bits start to unfold, however, there's very little tying DCR into the world of Among The Chosen beyond my sayso, so be patient.

DCR is published in "draft" format as a comic strip at the dead city radio website. When chapters are completed, the strips will be cleaned up, collected into pages, and posted here in complete chunks - meaning this section of the site will update quarterly at best and biannually at worst.

Transitional Voices is presently a higher production priority than DCR. The hope is to launch DCR.2 after TV.1 is complete, then complete DCR.2 and hopefully DCR.3 while TV is rolling, and then to finish the series in the interval between ATC.3 and ATC.4.

Chapter One : Whitehouse

2005.08.31 - 2007.09.24, 28 pages.

Collects Dead City Radio #001 through #122, excepting a lot of the Static and Squelch strips that were displayed when the comic wasn't updating.

Major Changes from Strip Format : The Whitehouse comic differs from the Whitehouse strips in a few key ways. Copyrights have been de-violated (removal of several band logos, etc), the apartment complex doors have been edited for accuracy (peephole, knocker, evacuation diagram), and most importantly, the font has been changed from Digital Strip to the font used in The Dualist. As with the cleanup run on The Dualist, dialogue in Whitehouse has been tweaked in a few places and flat out replaced in others. The result is a "strip collection" that reads like the comic that it actually is.

20080419 : DCR.1 has been cropped from the original 6x8.33 aspect ratio to the industry standard 6x9 - if I'm going to have atypical aspect ratios, I'd prefer to keep it to 3x4. As of today, The Dualist is 3x4 and everything else - everything else - is 6x9. The chapter hasn't just been cropped - several panels have been tweaked, placeholder CG has been replaced with actual CG, a few lines of dialogue have been adjusted, linework has been cleaned up across the board (most evident in the first 19 or so pages), and there's a new cover to boot. All of this has been done now (instead of earlier) as a productive way of putting off the modeling work needed to finish Chapter One of Transitional Voices, which will be receiving similar treatment as soon as it's finished.
