It's a good thing that this was originally "overrun" - a page built out of stuff drawn for and not used with the previous page, etc, etc... plot-wise, this page blends together the money shot and elements from the next page, making better use of the space while affecting a kind of compression that finishes the scene on the proper note.

In other words, I'm not just redoing the panels, I'm rewriting the scene so it flows better - this ought to be obvious by now.

Anyone who wants to accuse me of Lucasing needs to keep in mind that Georgie wiped his ass on finished work, while this thing's still very much a Work In Progress.

First major Pain In The Ass of animal - problems with anatomy and assembly amplified by health frooginess triggered by a complete failure of the climate control system at work and a deactivation of home heating by my roommate. During one of those "shit, it's the first week of March again!" cold snaps. Fun stuff - it's no wonder everybody I knew in this town has moved out of it: if it wasn't the shitty music scene, it's definitely the weather!

So. One more page in the scene, which will FINISH THE CHAPTER!!!!!!.

:D

And under other conditions, purple is easier to work with. Coincidentally, that page is also up for an edit - it'll be getting some continuity tweaks instead of the fullbore redux of the current scene.

Originally hammering -4-, done 29 May 2003 and back-published 2003-05-23 15:06:01. Like the other hammering pages, this one is 1200x1600, and underpainted. That is, I did what most people who aren't Ian seem to do- plopped the inks down with multiply and colored under them. Time consuming, to put it mildly. I quickly learned faster, better techniques and started using them early in Chapter One.

This page was originally displayed with page 3 to work around issues in the pacing that I'd indirectly brought upon myself in the early stages of development. Whee!
